> notes:

The American serial killer Ted Bundy was executed in the electric chair at Florida state prison on Jan 24, 1989. Between 1974 and 1978, he committed over 30 murders of young women between the ages 12 and 25 all across the United States.

The piece uses interviews taken with Ted Bundy just days and hours before his execution. They offer a strangely coherent, even humbling, image of him. Bundy was fictionalized by the media, but he was nonetheless a real person. In this piece, I've tried to be Ted Bundy's friend rather than a reporter. It's a portrait, an impression: just another version of the truth, because there are endless versions, and none of them are capable of truly telling us "what it was really like," for him.

The piece was premiered in its original form at Littlefield in Brooklyn, NY on Feb 27, 2011, and again on May 7 at the GAB Studio Art Gallery in Miami, FL. The work was then completely revised and expanded to 8 channels and presented at the Norberg Festival 2011.

Thanks to loadbang, Foundation for Emerging Technologies and Arts, Miami-Dade County, South Florida Composers Alliance, Yale School of Music and Audiorama Stockholm for supporting this project.
